Sugar - The Politics: What is your opinion on this?

The topic of sugar or avoiding sugar is a matter close to our hearts at eaglefit . In this article, we would like to give you an insight into the current discussion and explain why we consider certain types of sugar to be unnecessary and how you can live a sugar-free and therefore healthier life.
What does sugar do to us?
If you follow our recipes and nutrition tips on Facebook or Instagram , you've probably noticed that we generally avoid table sugar (sucrose). The reason? Sugar acts like a drug and stimulates the same reward centers in the brain as cocaine. This is scientifically proven.
But sugar addiction is not the only problem. Too much sugar leads to a variety of health problems: obesity, type 2 diabetes, tooth decay, skin diseases, mental illnesses such as depression, sleep disorders and general fatigue. Sugar plays no role in the natural human diet - refined sugar has only been part of our diet for around 300 years.

What is happening at the political level?
Consumer protection institutes and the World Health Organization repeatedly point out the dangers of sugar. In Great Britain there is already a tax on sugary drinks. In Germany, such a tax has so far been rejected. We at eaglefit would like to contribute to the discussion with our nutritional tips and recipes and encourage you to think.
How can you change your sugar consumption?
- Avoid convenience foods and highly processed foods. They often contain hidden sugar.
- Get used to it slowly: Reduce sugar gradually instead of giving it up completely straight away.
- Relax in stressful situations to avoid cravings. Yoga, walking or meditation can help.
- Use natural sugar alternatives such as agave syrup, date syrup or coconut blossom syrup. They contain valuable minerals and vitamins.

More tips
- Don’t avoid fructose from fruit – it provides important vitamins and minerals.
- Use spices like cinnamon, cocoa or vanilla to reduce your cravings for sweets.
- Distract yourself when you feel like eating something sweet. Sport or a hobby can help.
